This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds fine metal parts for sharpening plastic models of the strategic bomber Rockwell B-1B Lancer in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane – it is an accessory that is glued into a base kit already under construction. The parts aim at the cockpit and the interior, and at further details of the airframe that plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is an American supersonic strategic bomber with a variable-geometry wing. It flies at very low altitudes at high speed and carries an extensive bomb and missile load in several fuselage bays. It remains one of the mainstays of the US Air Force.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, shape them in a bending tool and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy. Once painted and with the recesses picked out, the details stand out.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
