The glazed nose is the first thing that catches the eye on this batch and at the same time the thing that turns the build into several evenings of work. A pair of Wright radial engines, twin vertical tails and a high-set wing gave the machine a signature that cannot be mistaken. The C version was among the first to be mass-produced and spread all over the world, from the Mediterranean through the Pacific to units that received the machines as part of Allied aid. In the southwest Pacific field workshops converted it into an attack form in which the glazing was replaced by sheet metal and gun barrels, so on this batch in particular it is worth thinking out what form the model will take.
With extensive glazing the order of the coats matters more than on a small cockpit. Apply the masked parts and spray the shade of the cockpit onto them first, then seal the whole part with the color of the surrounding skin. The frame will thus merge with the fuselage and no border of a different tone will appear, which on large areas is visible at once. Before the last coat, also reach for filler only where there is a seam between the transparent part and the sheet metal, and rather for clear glue than for classic filler, because that leaves a mark around the glass.
