The Eduard masking set for the 1:48 B-26G Marauder contains pre-cut masks for the frames of the glazing and for the wheels of the late American medium bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
These are masks, not photo-etched parts: the package holds pre-cut self-adhesive shapes for the frames of the glazing and for the tires. For the same aircraft Eduard also offers photo-etched sets that deal with the details of the cockpit or of the outer surface, and a smaller pre-painted variant of photo-etch. This item serves solely to separate painted frames sharply from the clear areas. Eduard is a Czech maker from Obrnice near Most.
The Marauder entered service with the reputation of a demanding machine, which its high wing loading and short wing had earned for it. Gradual modifications, a longer lifting surface and above all more thorough training of crews changed this picture, and the type finished the war with a very low loss rate. The G version from the end of production received a wing with a greater incidence angle and standardized onboard equipment. The machines came from the plants in Baltimore and in Omaha and were deployed above all with the daylight formations of medium bombers over France and Germany.
Degrease the clear parts, stick the shapes on and press the edges down with a blunt tool. First spray the interior shade of the frames, then the covering color. Take the masks off while the varnish is fresh.
The content of the package is masks alone; the model and the paints you acquire separately.
