The photo-etched set 1:48 B-26G Marauder exterior by Eduard adds fine metal details to the outer surface of a model of the medium bomber Martin B-26G.

The outside of a large twin-engined bomber is full of small features that are injected into plastic only coarsely: grilles, hold-down straps, boarding steps, covers and flat plates. It is precisely at these that this photo-etched set by Eduard is aimed, intended for a model of the Martin B-26G in 1:48 scale. It is used during the build of a kit you have purchased, and what it contains is metal parts, not plastic components of the airframe.
The Marauder entered service with the reputation of a dangerous machine. A short wing with high wing loading forgave few mistakes, and during the training of crews this showed in a series of accidents, on account of which the aircraft was given some unflattering nicknames. After the span was extended, the incidence of the wing changed and the training made more thorough, the tables turned: over western Europe the Marauders achieved the lowest losses per combat sortie of all the American bombers. The B-26G version was the last large production series.
Degrease the metal parts with alcohol before gluing, or paint will not hold on them. Transfer the small plates with the moistened tip of a toothpick and seat them in a drop of glue that you have applied to the surface of the model beforehand. Attach the exterior details according to their color: whatever is to be in the shade of the airframe, stick on before spraying, and parts colored separately rather only after the base coat.
