Eduard 1:48 B-26K Invader TFace is a set of pre-cut painting masks for the glazing of the Invader model in 1:48 scale, in the double-sided version for the outer and the inner face.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the twin-engine B-26K Invader attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is an aid for painting, not a kit and not a photo-etched set: self-adhesive masks die-cut to the shape of the glazing, which are taken off after spraying and have then done their job. Against the basic version, the TFace version adds masks for the inner face of the glazing.
The Invader has its glazing divided into a larger number of panes and frames, so preparing masks from tape by hand is especially long-winded and error-prone here. The masks cut that step down to a few minutes and, above all, make sure the frames are the same width along their whole length - uneven frame width is one of the first things you notice on a finished model. The double-sided version also lets you keep to the real state of affairs, where the frame carries the interior color inside and camouflage outside.
Work in the order inside, then outside. Degrease the glazing, lay the masks with tweezers and press the edges down carefully. On bomber and attack types with divided windows it pays to paint the frames first in the interior color, then in a coat of the base fuselage color and only at the end in camouflage - the transitions are then not visible through the glass. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch. Polish the clear part at the end and, if need be, go over it with a gloss clear coat, which evens out small scratches.
The masks are a consumable accessory to a model, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
