About product

Photo-etched set for the BAe Harrier GR.1 (1:48, Eduard)

This is a detail accessory, not a kit. The photo-etched set serves to improve plastic models of the British Harrier GR.1 combat aircraft with vertical takeoff in 1:48 scale. It adds fine features to the cockpit and the airframe that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.

The real subject

The Harrier GR.1 was the first land-based attack version of the British vertical-takeoff aircraft in the colors of the Royal Air Force. What made it famous was its unique vectored-thrust powerplant, which allowed vertical takeoff and landing.

What the set contains

  • etched parts for the cockpit and the instrument fit
  • exterior detail for the airframe
  • fine features for a truer overall look

Usage tips

Separate the parts from the fret, lead the folds over a sharp edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Degrease any unprinted parts before painting and give them a base coat, so that the paint adheres well.

Who it is for

  • builders of the Harrier GR.1 in 1:48 scale
  • anyone after a detailed cockpit and exterior
  • modelers with experience of photo-etch

The accessory requires a base plastic kit, which is not included in the package.

FAQ

No, it is a photo-etched accessory. You need a base plastic kit of the Harrier GR.1 in 1:48 scale.

The cockpit and the instrument fit, plus small exterior details of the airframe.

Rather for more experienced modelers, because working with photo-etch calls for dexterity.
