The set 1:48 Barracuda Mk.II seatbelts STEEL contains straps etched from steel and printed in advance for the cockpit of the British carrier bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The steel version of the straps has one fundamental advantage over ordinary photo-etched metal: once bent, the material keeps its position, so a natural sag and a drape over the edge of the seat can be modeled. The color printing on the face side includes the fittings as well, so once cut out the parts only need seating. In 1:48 scale this is a modification that is visible immediately in an uncovered cockpit and yet calls for no cutting into the plastic.
The Fleet Air Arm put the Barracuda into service as a torpedo and dive bomber with a crew of three. Its unmistakable appearance came from the high-set tail surfaces and the large flaps under the wing, which also served as dive brakes during a diving attack. It entered history in April 1944, when formations of these machines took part in the raids on the German battleship anchored in a Norwegian fjord. The spacious cockpit with three stations gives a model plenty of room that is worth equipping.
Work over a surface with a raised edge; tiny parts like to jump away. Bend them over the blunt edge of a knife in several steps and attach the finished strap with a spot of glue in an invisible place. Protect the printing from solvents.
In the package there are the straps alone, no plastic or resin parts.
