A double-sided masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for the model of the twin-engine Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation describes the extent of the set: masks are prepared for the outer and for the inner side of the glazing. The Beaufighter has glazing at two separate places on the airframe, over the pilot and over the rear crew member, so the set deals with more than a single canopy. The package holds masks only, not parts of a model.
The Bristol Beaufighter was a British twin-engine two-seat aircraft of the Second World War powered by radial engines. It came about as a heavy fighter and was also used in night and strike roles. The Mk.VI version is among the widespread guises of the type. Structurally it is a rugged airframe with a short nose and a good view from the pilot's station, which makes the cockpit a visual feature of a model.
First wash and degrease the glazing. Lift the masks off with tweezers, lay them on dry and press the edge down with a blunt tip. Because there are two glazed areas, sort the pieces not only into inner and outer but also according to where on the model they belong. Paint the inner side in the interior shade before the fuselage is closed, and the outside only as part of the camouflage. Thin coats give a cleaner edge.
The package holds masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
