1:48 Bf-109E-3 TFace is a double-sided mask set for the heavily framed cockpit glazing of the Messerschmitt in the E-3 version.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set cut to the shape of the glazing of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 fighter in 1:48 scale. The abbreviation TFace in the name says that the glazing is handled from two sides, that is including the inner outlines of the frames visible through an open cockpit.
The Emil has glazing that became proverbial: a windscreen with a flat pane, an angularly framed hinged hood with side panels and behind it a fixed rear section with further bulkheads. There are many frames, they are narrow and they run in several different directions, so the manual tape method is extremely slow here and one badly done edge spoils the overall impression. It is with this type in particular that pre-cut masks pay off most.
The E-3 version was the form with which German fighter units entered the fighting over France and over the British Isles. It was powered by an inverted twelve-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, thanks to which the engine did not cut out under negative g; against contemporary opponents with a carburetor that was a noticeable advantage. The armament consisted of weapons in the wing, supplemented by a pair of fuselage machine guns above the engine. The machines carried a typical divided camouflage scheme with a light underside and hard transitions on the sides of the fuselage.
