A photo-etched detail set for the German Bf 109E-4/7 fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard - fine metal parts, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set for the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a model of the aircraft but a set of fine metal parts that replace or complete the details of a plastic kit. The photo-etched parts in thin sheet are crisper than molded plastic and carry the instrument panel, the seat belts, the control levers and small covers or details of the interior and the exterior alike. The material is usually brass, on some parts steel.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 of the E series, nicknamed Emil, was the main German fighter at the beginning of the Second World War and the key opponent in the Battle of Britain. The E-4 version had improved armament, and the E-7 could carry a drop tank or a bomb under the fuselage. It was powered by the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them over the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and it is worth degreasing the surface before gluing. The set is meant for more advanced modelers used to small metal parts.
The set does not contain the model of the aircraft itself; it serves as an accessory for the matching kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
