Responsibility details are not available.
This pre-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is used to spray spiral patterns onto the propeller spinner of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter. It is not a kit and it is not a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks made of thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The set offers spirals in several versions, so you can pick the pattern that matches a particular aircraft.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was the most widespread version of the German Bf 109 fighter of the Second World War. A spiral on the propeller spinner was a common recognition and psychological marking on these machines, producing a striking visual effect as the propeller turned. Painting a sharp, symmetrical spiral accurately with a brush is demanding.
First spray the spinner in the base color of the spiral and let it dry. Take the mask off the backing and wind it carefully onto the spinner so that it clings without creases. Then spray over it in the second color. Because of the rounded shape, apply the paint in thin coats so that it cannot bleed under the edge of the mask. Once it is dry, peel the mask off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
