Masking films for the glazing of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G-6 version, 1:48 scale. The covering is prepared for both sides of the glazing and matches the molding by the brand Fujimi.
Responsibility details are not available.
The G-6 version became the most numerous form of the whole family and from the spring of 1943 it made up the main strength of the daylight defense of the Reich. Its recognition features are the bulges on the engine cowling, which were called for by the stronger onboard weapons mounted above the cylinders. The pilots had a nickname for them taken from the word for a swelling. Besides those, the machine was often supplemented with gondolas holding further cannon under the wing, which improved the fire against bombers but worsened agility in a fight with the escort fighters.
This type flew with two different cockpit covers. The older form has a dense net of frames and above the pilot's head a massive armor plate on struts, while the newer so-called light hood has markedly fewer frames and a better view. Which of them the model gets is decided by the kit, and the shape of the masks has to be matched to it.
The set holds pieces for the outer surfaces and matching shapes for the inner sides. On a densely framed cover that is essential, because the frames are visible from inside the cockpit as well and the gray interior would show through an uncolored spot. The outlines are derived from the parts of the chosen model.
Before applying, check whether your molding carries the same type of cover the set is shaped to. If you are building with a replacement clear part from another firm, reckon with a slight shift of the frames and rather try the position dry before spraying.
