An Eduard photo-etched set for a model of the Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B strike aircraft in 1:48 scale. Thin metal replaces the places where a plastic part necessarily comes out thicker.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Blackburn Buccaneer is a British twin-engine strike aircraft built for attack at low altitude and high speed. It was created for carrier service with the Royal Navy and passed to the Royal Air Force after the large carriers were withdrawn. The crew consists of a pilot and a navigator seated one behind the other. A striking feature is the rotating bomb bay, which opens by rotating the inner part of the fuselage, and the split airbrake at the end of the fuselage. The designation S.2B belongs to the version that served with the Royal Air Force.
Photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet. Etching holds a thickness that neither injection molding nor casting can reach, which is why it is used where a plastic part necessarily comes out thicker than the subject would warrant. The parts are held on the fret by thin tabs and are separated only at the moment you fit them.
For modelers who are bothered by robust plastic parts on a finished model and who already have experience of working with tweezers. Building with photo-etch is slower than working with plastic alone, but the result is finer at first glance.
The package holds photo-etched parts. A kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
