Seat belts for a model of the four-engined B-17F Flying Fortress bomber in 1:48 scale. The word STEEL in the name sets the material: the belts are etched from steel. How many parts the package holds, which seats they belong to and whether they come in a color finish is given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
Seats in kits tend to have the belts only suggested in relief, or not at all. A metal belt, by contrast, is thin, can be bent over the edge of the cushion and left hanging loose, so the interior stops looking empty. On a bomber that shows twice over, because its inside is accessible from several places at once.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the burrs away. Shape them gradually with flat-jawed tweezers, bend by bend. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a tiny amount. Seat the belts before you close the fuselage, because the seats are out of reach later. Before any painting, wash and degrease the surface and spray it with a primer.
The set is meant for a modeler building the B-17F with open compartments who wants the interior taken all the way. Check in the instructions which 1:48 kit it is developed for. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
