Big Ed is the package in which the Czech firm Eduard brings together several of its separate accessory sets for one model. Thanks to that the customer does not have to order set after set. What exactly is in the package is given by the manufacturer on the box and in the instructions.
The F/A-18F is the two-seat version of the multirole carrier aircraft Super Hornet. Compared with the single-seat guise it has a lengthened cockpit with two stations and glazing arranged to match. The machine is adapted for operations from aircraft carriers, that is for arrested landings and catapult launches, which is reflected in the structure of both the landing gear and the airframe.
A modern combat aircraft is above all about the number of small details. A two-seat cockpit means twice as much work in the interior as on the single-seat version and at the same time twice the area that is visible under the large glazing. The accessories go into a model gradually: the interior and the cockpit before the fuselage is closed, exterior details only at later stages. Cut the photo-etched parts off with a scalpel, bend them along the score line and glue them with cyanoacrylate; cement for polystyrene has no effect on metal. Pre-painted parts are laid down finished and are not painted over. Masks are stuck onto the clear parts before spraying and pulled off only once the paint has dried, otherwise the edge of the paint will tear away. Lay the order of the work out in advance so that you do not end up needing to fit a part into an already glued fuselage.
This is a bundle of accessories for a kit, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
