Color 3D printed cockpit details of the British interwar fighter Bristol Bulldog Mk.II in 1:48 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not an airplane model but an upgrade accessory with which you bring the interior of the Airfix Bulldog plastic kit to life without laborious painting.

What it is and how it works

The details are printed by 3D technology on thin decal film, so they combine relief with color. On the open cockpit of a biplane the interior is clearly visible, so a detailed instrument panel, side consoles, controls and belts are especially worth having. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss coat. Do not use a decal softener on them, as its chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the element.

Use

• Intended for the Bristol Bulldog Mk.II 1:48 kit (Airfix)
• Cut the piece out, soak it for about 15 seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the backing paper
• Keep the surface smooth, clean and coated with a gloss varnish; a matte one will not hold
• Press the relief layers into the shape of the panels, and on busy areas a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps
