Replacement wheels for the British Austin K2 ambulance in 1:48 scale from Hauler will refine the part of the chassis a viewer notices first. The target kit is Tamiya.

This is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory: the set replaces the wheels of the British two-ton ambulance in 1:48 scale. In a display case the wheels are closest to the eye and any simplifications on them stand out sooner than anything on the body, so the swap is worth it even on an otherwise successful kit. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
Replacement wheels give a sharper tread pattern and a clean transition between the tire and the rim. It also does away with dealing with the parting seam, which on assembled wheels runs exactly across the middle of the tread and is tiresome to sand down.
Before the build, rinse the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry properly. Cut off the seating surface with a fine-toothed saw and even it out on abrasive paper laid on a flat board, so that the vehicle stands without rocking. Paint the tire and the rim separately, best of all the rim first and the rubber afterwards with a brush around the circumference, or with the help of a circular mask. Add the dust settled on the tread with pigments at the very end.
The set contains accessory parts only; the vehicle itself and paints are not part of it.
The Austin K2 stood on tall wheels with a narrow tread, so the tread pattern shows in the view from the front as well. When seating them, therefore, watch that both front wheels point the same way.
