This is not a model of the vehicle but a replacement set of wheels for a kit of the eight-wheeled BTR-60 carrier in 1:48 scale you have already bought. The accessory is made by the Czech brand Hauler, focused on aftermarket parts for modelers.
On wheeled equipment the wheels are the first thing the eye notices on a finished model and at the same time what tends to be weakest in a kit. Injection-molded tires are split by the mold, so a parting line stays all the way round, which has to be laboriously sanded away, and the tread pattern tends to be soft. A replacement set solves both: the tread pattern and the sidewall detail are sharper and the wheel is cast in one piece, so there is no cleaning up of a seam right round. On an eight-wheeled vehicle that difference is multiplied, as eight wheels are visible and they stand in a marked line beneath the hull.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent comes off the surface, or neither primer nor paint will hold. Cut the casting blocks away with a saw or a cutting disc, not with pliers, so that the material does not shatter, and sand the area down. While sanding resin, wear a respirator and sand wet for preference, as the dust is fine and is not to be breathed in. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before fitting them, check that all the wheels stand in the same plane; on an eight-wheeled chassis every deviation shows up at once. Painting: a dark gray base instead of pure black, then light drybrushing on the tread pattern and dust with a pigment on the sides.
The BTR-60 is a Soviet eight-wheeled amphibious armored personnel carrier with all-wheel drive, steered front axles and the ability to swim. It was built in several versions, differing mainly in the installation of the weapons and in the arrangement of the fighting compartment.
