Buckets in 1:48 scale from the maker Hauler are small diorama furniture that will complete a scene beside a vehicle, a workshop or a farm building.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of small accessories for dioramas and display scenes. It is not a model nor a kit of a vehicle but details that are placed around the main model in the setting. A bucket is among the most universal props a modeler can have: it turns up beside a field kitchen, at a pump, on the bed of a truck, in a barn, beside a horse team and in the corner of a workshop.
A scene is credible when there are traces of people in it, even when no figure stands in it. A bucket set down, a tipped-over vessel or an object propped against a wall tell you that someone was working there a moment ago. These small things take a fraction of the work the main model takes and yet they have a greater influence on the resulting impression than another detail on the vehicle. The rule of measure applies, though: a few objects placed logically work better than a scene full of props tipped out at random.
First wash the small parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that no manufacturing film stays on the surface, and let them dry properly. Cut the gates off with a scalpel over a surface and it is better to put a tray under your hands, as a small part that springs away is hard to find. They are conveniently painted on a skewer or a toothpick to which you temporarily attach the part with double-sided tape. On galvanized sheet a light gray with a silvery cast and a dark wash into the recesses works, and on an enameled surface a saturated color with chipped places suggested with a fine brush. A little rust on the bottom and on the rim turns an object at once into a thing that gets used. Inside a bucket water can be suggested with a gloss varnish or modeling resin.
This is a diorama accessory, not a complete model. The base, glue and paints are not included in the package.
