The masking set 1:48 C6N Nat. Ins. w/ o White Outline from Dead Design is for spraying national insignia without a light border onto a model of the fast reconnaissance aircraft Nakajima Saiun.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masks for spraying the Japanese national insignia on a model of the carrier-borne reconnaissance aircraft Nakajima C6N. According to the name this is the disc without a light border. The Saiun has to be built from another kit, as this is purely the masking of the insignia at the stage when the camouflage is finished and the surface is ready.
The C6N Saiun was unusual among Japanese carrier machines in not being built around armament but around speed and range. The reconnaissance aircraft with a crew of three was given a slim fuselage with a long glazed canopy and a powerful radial engine, thanks to which it could outrun most fighters. The type entered service in the late phase of the war and its crews brought back reports from places the slower machines could not reach.
The insignia on the Saiun lie on a long, softly curved fuselage, where a mask readily wrinkles. Seat it along the longitudinal axis first and only then press it down toward the edges. Because the version without a border has no light base under the red, everything beneath it shows up in the shade. Before you set about the model, try the spraying on an offcut in the same camouflage color.
