1:48 Canopy And Wheels Paint Masks For Aero L-29 Delfin is a small set of masks for the frames of the tandem glazing and for the wheels of the Czechoslovak jet trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small set deals with the two most tiresome places of a build: the divided glazing of the two-seat cockpit and the transition between the wheel rim and the tire. The shapes are cut according to the particular parts, so cutting tape along the engraving falls away, and with it the risk of the knife slipping and scratching a clear part. Work that takes a whole evening by hand is thus cut down to a few minutes and the clear parts stay without a single scratch.
The Aero L-29 Delfin first flew in 1959 and became the standard jet trainer of the Warsaw Pact states. The Vodochody factory built around three and a half thousand of them and they flew from Czechoslovakia through the Soviet Union as far as Egypt and Nigeria. The designers went for simplicity and durability, so the machine managed takeoffs even from a grass strip and forgave beginners' mistakes.
Spray the glazing with the interior shade first and only then with the color of the exterior finish; the frames then look right from both sides. The circular masks are applied to the wheel rim and the tire is sprayed with a dark matte tone; the reverse order leaves a visible outline at the edge of the rim. Any adhesive residue after removal will come off with a cotton swab moistened in soapy water.
