A sheet with markings for American naval F-14 fighters in 1:48 scale, the thirteenth part of the series devoted to their colors and markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing that swept in flight according to speed. It served with the US Navy for several decades and its machines carried striking unit markings, so colors and markings are a subject of their own with this type. The whole series is devoted to them and this sheet is its thirteenth part.
These are markings for models in 1:48 scale. The set widens the choice of finishes and insignia beyond what usually comes with a kit, so you can build a machine you will not run into on a shelf any time soon. Which particular aircraft the sheet covers is given in the enclosed manufacturer's sheet, which also governs the recommended shades.
Prepare the surface to a gloss, because silvery bubbles form easily under a decal on matte varnish. Cut the item out together with its backing, soak it in lukewarm water and let it rest for a while until it starts to move. Then slide it onto the model, squeeze the water out and let it dry thoroughly. Over rivets and pressed detail a decal softener helps. Finally overcoat everything according to the surface you want.
It suits a modeler who is building a Tomcat after a particular machine and wants the markings to be accurate, and also anyone looking for a less usual finish than the one from the kit. The items can be combined with further sheets of the same series. The model, the paints and the varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
