Cut stencils for the outside of the glazing and for the main wheels of a model of the four-engine Consolidated B-24 D Liberator bomber, 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The D form was the first type of the series used really widely: a low-wing aircraft with a narrow Davis wing, four radial engines and a roomy bomb bay with roller doors. It was precisely these machines that carried out the low-level raid on the refineries at Ploiesti in August 1943, one of the bloodiest undertakings of the US Army Air Forces at all. Other examples patrolled over the Atlantic, where their great range closed the gap in which submarines had felt safe until then.
You can tell the D version by the smooth glazed nose and by the position of the dorsal turret, which the later forms moved forward. For a builder that is a reliable point of reference when choosing a scheme and accessories.
A four-engine bomber has a glazed nose, a pilot's station, gun turrets and side windows, that is dozens of areas in all. Cutting tape by hand on them would take a whole evening and the widths would still differ from piece to piece. Pre-cut shapes shorten this work to a moment and above all guarantee that all the bars come out the same thickness.
The outside of the glazing is covered, and painting the frames in from inside stays with the builder. There are circular stencils for the main wheels in the package as well. The cut allows for the molding from Revell in this size. The proven procedure runs: apply the cockpit shade first, then overcoat with the external finish and take the mask off as soon as the surface has set. Patience pays off here more than speed.
