An aftermarket detail set from MASTER, not a kit. It holds turned brass blast tubes for the .50 caliber Browning wing machine guns, a gunsight element and a Pitot tube for a model of the Curtiss P-40E to P-40N in 1:48 scale. The metal and additional parts replace the corresponding plastic parts from the original kit.
In the smaller 1:48 scale precisely turned brass comes into its own especially: the machine gun muzzles gain the right shape and depth, and the thin plastic Pitot tube is replaced by a tougher metal part. The gunsight refines the detail of the cockpit. The set is tied to the later P-40 versions (E to N) with .50 caliber machine guns.
Cut the plastic parts off, drill holes in the remaining parts and glue the brass parts in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Deburr and degrease the parts. Given the small dimensions, the work suits advanced modelers. Brass takes a base coat and an airbrush well.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
