The model is supplied finished. It is assembled, painted and provided with markings, so gluing, filling, primer and spraying all fall away. That is an essential difference from a kit and it is worth allowing for: you are buying an exhibit, not a weekend project. For aircraft models 1:48 is one of the most common scales, so the model fits in among the other machines of a collection in size and will not stand out from the row.
The P-40 was an American single-seat fighter with a liquid-cooled V12 engine, recognizable by the characteristic shape of the radiator under the front of the fuselage. The M version belonged to the later batches and used an Allison engine. A large part of the production of the late P-40 versions went to Allied users, where these aircraft served under other designations as well. The type proved itself mainly at lower altitudes and in the fighter-bomber role, and the armament consisted of 12.7 mm machine guns in the wings.
Because the model is not built, all the care comes down to displaying and maintaining it. What harms models most is direct sunlight, after which the colors fade and change shade, and dust, which settles in the corners between the wing and the fuselage. Dust it with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which catches on the antennas and the landing gear. An enclosed display case is the ideal solution, because it protects both against dust and against accidental damage while handling things nearby.
