A resin conversion set from the Czech manufacturer AML for rebuilding a plastic kit of the Sherman tank in 1:48 scale into the Firefly Ic version in the service of the Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade. Please note that this is not a stand-alone model: the set is an accessory that is built into a plastic Sherman kit, and the conversion is intended for advanced modelers with experience of resin parts.
The Firefly was the British answer to heavily armored German tanks: the powerful 17-pounder gun was successfully installed in the turret of a Sherman, and it could threaten even the Panther and the Tiger. The conversion brought characteristic features, a long barrel with a muzzle brake, a stowage box at the rear of the turret and changes to the ammunition stowage. The Firefly Ic was based on the version of the Sherman with a radial engine. The Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade used these tanks on the western front, where from the autumn of 1944 it besieged the German garrison in the port of Dunkirk.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the plastic tank kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
