Do 335A Pfeil masks 1:48 is a set of painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for masking the glazed cockpit and other items of a model of this type.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:48 scale for the German Dornier Do 335A Pfeil fighter. The masks make it possible to mask the frames of the glazed cockpit and usually the wheels too quickly and cleanly while spraying. It is not a model but an accessory for building one.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil, meaning arrow, was a German fighter and fighter-bomber from the end of the Second World War with an unusual arrangement of two engines in tandem, with a tractor propeller at the front and a pusher at the rear. It was among the fastest piston aircraft of its day, but only a small number were built.
The masks are laid adhesive side down directly onto the clean, degreased cockpit glazing and the other items of the model to be masked, the edges are pressed down carefully and the areas between them are covered with tape or with masking fluid. The framing is then sprayed in the airframe color and once dry the masks are carefully taken off. The pre-cut shape matches the subdivision of the cockpit, so laborious cutting of tape with a knife is not needed. The masks are intended for the given aircraft type; the particular kit has to be obtained separately.
Painting masks are not a model. The aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately; masks, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
