A resin accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for the model of the Citroën 11 CV passenger car in 1:48 scale. It is a separate door part cast for the Tamiya kit, not a model of the car. Resin allows a thinner wall and crisper detail than can be produced in an injection mold.
The Citroën 11 CV belonged to the Traction Avant family of models built from the mid-1930s onwards. For its day it was a technically advanced car: a unitary body with no conventional frame and front-wheel drive, which gave it a low build and good handling. The type was widespread and reliable, and it therefore commonly appeared in service as a staff and official vehicle as well.
Before working, wash the resin free of release agent and check whether the part is warped. Slight twisting is straightened by briefly dipping it in hot water and letting it cool flat. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the cut surface on wet abrasive paper. Use super glue; cement for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a primer before painting; without it paint sits poorly on a smooth casting and rubs off during handling.
The part is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
