An accurately cut self-adhesive masking set of Japanese paper tape (kabuki) for a plastic model of the American Douglas A-1H piston ground-attack aircraft in the US Navy version, in 1:48 scale, from the Czech maker New Ware. This is neither a model nor paint but a set of masks for spraying the glazing and the details cleanly. The BASIC level holds masks for the canopy glazing from the outside, for the wheels and for further clear parts.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was an American single-seat piston ground-attack aircraft with a large weapons load and long endurance over the battlefield. In US Navy service it proved itself supporting ground forces from the Korean War through to operations over Vietnam. The A-1H version was among the widely used single-seat standards. The type was known under the name Skyraider.
The masks are cut from a tape that conforms to the curvature of the canopy and leaves no tacky marks once peeled off. Degrease and dry the surface before sticking them on, move the parts with tweezers and press them against the edges of the frames. Cover the rest of the glazing with scraps of tape or with masking fluid. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and peel the masks away before the finish has dried completely, so that the edges stay sharp.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model and not paints. The model itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
