An accurately cut self-adhesive masking set of Japanese paper tape (kabuki) for a plastic model of the American Douglas A-1H piston ground-attack aircraft in the US Navy version, in 1:48 scale, from the Czech maker New Ware. This is neither a model nor paint but a set of masks for spraying the glazing and the details cleanly. The EXPERT level is the most complete one: besides the outer canopy masks it takes in masks for the inner face of the glazing and the frame sealant, masks for the wheels, for the clear parts and elements for masking the camouflage.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was an American single-seat piston ground-attack aircraft with a large weapons load and long endurance over the battlefield. With the US Navy it served supporting ground forces from the Korean War through to operations over Vietnam, and it became known for its toughness and for its ability to carry a heavy load of bombs and rockets. The A-1H version was among the widely used single-seat standards.
The masks are cut from a tape that conforms to the curvature and leaves no tacky marks once peeled off. Degrease and dry the surface before sticking them on, move the parts with tweezers and press them against the edges of the frames. Cover the remaining area with scraps of tape or with masking fluid. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and peel the masks away before the finish has dried completely.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model and not paints. The model itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
