This set from DN Models draws onto a model a scheme you would not expect on a Skyhawk: sharply contrasting black-and-white fields, such as the machines of a private provider of adversary training wear. Two sheets of pre-cut parts cover the large areas of the fuselage and the wings and supplement them with the civil registrations. The artwork follows real aircraft, not free fantasy.
This American company, founded in 2012, operates the largest private fleet of tactical combat aircraft in the world. Its machines play the opponent in the training of military pilots, so they appear in colorings meant to imitate foreign equipment and at the same time to be clearly distinguishable in the sky. That is where the striking black-and-white rendition comes from, which differs markedly from the classic blue and black aggressors.
Lay the light tone first and give it time. Only then will the parts of the mask adhere evenly and not lift on the curves of the leading edges. Apply the dark color at right angles to the edges and preferably in two passes. The semi-transparent material lets you follow the panel lines underneath it, so the position can be adjusted before spraying.
These are standalone masking sheets; the aircraft and paints do not belong with them.
