Responsibility details are not available.
The item named 1:48 Drivers / civilian pilots (3 figures) brings civilian figures together in one package; the plural and the figure in brackets both suggest that this is not a single figure. 1:48 scale is among the most widespread for aircraft models, so the set will find use mainly on an airfield apron. For aircraft builders it is a practical way of populating the area around the machine all at once.
A civilian cast shifts the scene elsewhere than uniforms do. It suits flying club machines, historic sport aircraft, a car parked by a hangar and a scene from a racing circuit alike. Because the figures carry no military markings, their use will not tie you to a particular country or period. The colors can also be more varied than a service setting would take.
In this format the head measures only a few millimeters, so carefully polished transitions will not show anyway. It is more effective to work with contrast: a lighter base, a dark glaze into the recesses and a gentle highlight on the highest spots. It is better only to suggest the eyes with a thin dark line. Feel free to increase the differences between light and shadow compared with what you would choose on a large figure.
