Eduard 1:48 F-104G mask set made from precisely die-cut self-adhesive kabuki tape for a clean spray on the canopy of the Starfighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks made from fine Japanese kabuki paper tape from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit: it is an accessory that makes painting the model of the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter in 1:48 scale considerably easier. The masks are stuck onto the clear parts, protect them while spraying and so give the canopy frames sharp, clean edges without lengthy brushwork.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was an American single-engined interceptor with an extremely thin trapezoidal wing, capable of flying at over Mach 2. The F-104G version was created as a multirole variant for the European NATO states and became the most widespread version of the type, flying with the German, Italian, Dutch and Belgian air arms among others.
Degrease the surface of the parts before sticking the masks down and press the edges home with a toothpick or a soft spatula so that paint does not creep under. Spray the canopy frames with the interior shade first and only then with the external color, and once the masks come off the frame will be correctly dark seen from the inside. Lift the masks with tweezers at a sharp angle, ideally soon after the paint has dried.
This is an accessory: neither the aircraft kit nor the paints are included in the package. Please check the fit with your particular kit.
