This item is not an aircraft kit, but a full photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Compared with the smaller Zoom set made for the same type, it is considerably more extensive: it does not stop at the most visible surfaces but also covers places the modeler can reach only before the fuselage is closed up. So if you are planning a build with the canopy raised and want to take the interior all the way, this is the right variant.
The difference between the two sets lies mainly in their extent, not in the quality of the etching. Zoom saves time, while the full set adds both work and result. There is plenty to improve in the two-seat cockpit of the Tomcat, because the space is deep and, with the usual building sequence, more of it stays visible after closing up than a modeler would expect.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier-based fighter of the US Navy with a variable-sweep wing, designed primarily for the long-range defense of a naval task force. The F-14B version came about by re-engining with the more modern F110 series engines, which removed the operating restrictions of the original powerplant and noticeably improved the aircraft's behavior at high angles of attack. In the later part of their service, aircraft of this version also took on precision strike tasks against ground targets.
Plan ahead, because a full set is built in during the build, not at the very end. Cut the parts away with a sharp blade on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool, otherwise the edge will not be straight. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer intended for metals. It is bonded with super glue in minute drops, and on larger surfaces the gel version helps. Where a photo-etched part is to go, first carefully sand away the plastic relief.
