A masking set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the F-16A after the MLU upgrade in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation marks the version prepared for the inner side of the glazing as well: the canopy frame can therefore be sprayed with the interior color from the inside and the exterior shade from the outside, without having to go round anything with a brush. The standard version without the TFace qualifier is a separate item under the same name.
The F-16 is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft. It is characterized by a canopy with no front frame, which gives the pilot a good view and gives the modeler extra work instead, because the framing of the canopy has to be masked precisely. The MLU designation refers to the Mid-Life Update program for the A and B versions among European users; the upgraded machines carry the designations F-16AM and F-16BM.
Wash and degrease the glazing. Apply the inner masks before you fit the canopy to the model, while it is still accessible from both sides. Spray the paint in thin coats and take the masks off shortly after it has dried. Apply clear varnish only to a finished and checked surface, so that no fingerprints get sealed under it.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
