1:48 F-16C

The real subject

The F-16C is the single-seat version of the single-engine multirole fighter that from the end of the 1970s spread into the inventories of dozens of air forces. You can recognize it by its teardrop canopy with a view in every direction, by its slender fuselage with blended wing roots and by the stores stations thanks to which the same airframe serves for air combat and for attacks on ground targets.

What the set contains

A decal sheet in 1:48 scale meant for a plastic model of the F-16C. The range of subjects and their assignment to individual machines will be found in the instructions that are part of the set.

Building and painting tips

Apply the decals only onto a finished coat of paint covered with a gloss clear coat. On a smooth gloss surface no air is trapped under the film and the edges will not go matte once dry. Cut the chosen subject out close to the artwork, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until the film starts to slide freely off the backing paper. On the model, set it in the right position, draw the excess water off with a soft paper towel and let it dry undisturbed. Over panel lines and riveted joints a decal softener helps, drawing the film down to the surface. Finally coat the model with a matte or semi-matte clear coat according to the look you want.

Who it is for

The set suits modelers who want to give an F-16C under construction a particular identity and are not satisfied with the decals from the base kit. It is an accessory for a kit, so the model, paints, clear coats and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
