1:48 F-86F Sabre UC bays Hasegawa - cut templates for bounding the landing gear bays of this famous swept-wing fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set deals with bounding the bays into which the Sabre retracts the nose wheel and both main wheels. The edges are ready, all you need is to seat them and press them down, so nothing has to be traced or cut.
The Sabre was the first American fighter with a swept wing and in Korea it became the main opponent of the MiG-15. The F version got a stronger engine and a reworked leading edge without slats, extended at the root and at the tip, which improved its behavior at high altitude at the cost of a higher stalling speed. The armament consisted of six half-inch machine guns in the nose along the sides of the intake duct. The type was also built under license outside the United States and served with some air forces long after the conflict ended.
The Sabre is most often built in polished metal, which tolerates only a minimum of extra work. Finish the inner bays first, let them rest for a few hours and only then lay the masking pieces on. When removing them, pull the piece back over itself rather than straight up, so that the edge does not peel away along with the coat. Under the final clear coat no imperfection will hide any more.
