An Eduard photo-etched set for the model of the F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The metal parts replace thicker plastic details.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F4F-4 Wildcat is an American carrier fighter with a squat fuselage and angular surfaces. It was with the F4F-4 version that folding wings came in, thanks to which far more machines fitted into the same space on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and the armament grew to six machine guns in the wing. The narrow landing gear retracting into the fuselage, which the pilot cranked up by hand, is characteristic as well. On a model these are all places where fine detail shows.
Photo-etched parts for building the F4F-4 in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched sheet allows elements to be made incomparably thinner than can be produced in injection-molded plastic, so the set is used above all to replace surfaces that are meant to look fine on the finished model. The exact list of parts, where they go and what kit they are for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set belongs in the hands of a modeler who already manages fine work with tweezers and wants detail in the cockpit and in other exposed places to match 1:48 scale.
A kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
