1:48 F4F-4 Wildcat SPACE is a set of three-dimensional decals and photo-etched steel belts with which you can quickly furnish the cockpit of the American carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SPACE line is built on three-dimensional decals: the color layers are printed on a carrier film, so after transfer onto plastic they look raised while adding practically no thickness. The set covers the instrument panel and the side walls of the cockpit and is complemented by seat belts of photo-etched steel. The cockpit is transformed in a single evening.
The squat machine with a narrow landing gear track was not the most agile, but it took unbelievably hard treatment. The F4F-4 version received folding wings so that more machines fitted on deck, and six 12.7 mm machine guns. In 1942 it carried the main weight of the fighting at Midway and over Guadalcanal, and American pilots answered the Japanese advantage in agility with a pair tactic of mutual cover.
Smooth the surfaces under the decal and spray them with gloss varnish, otherwise bubbles will show under the film. Moisten only the backing paper with a sponge, lift the element off with tweezers and set it into a drop of white PVA glue. Do not use a decal softener at all: the chemicals attack the printed resin and ruin the element. Once dry, go over it with matte varnish so the cockpit does not reflect light.
