Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard mask set in 1:48 scale is made for the plastic model of the American carrier-based fighter Vought F4U-1D Corsair. It is not a kit or a standalone model, but a set of precisely shaped masks made of thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). Modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, wheels and camouflage fields without laboriously cutting tape by hand will appreciate the masks.
The Vought F4U Corsair is an American carrier-based fighter of the Second World War with a characteristic inverted gull wing and a powerful radial engine. The -1D version got a one-piece bulged canopy with a better view and a raised pilot's seat, which made taxiing and landing over the long nose easier. The Corsair served with the Navy and Marine Corps as both a fighter and an attack aircraft.
Degrease the glazing of the bulged canopy and let it dry. Peel the masks off the backing and apply them to the windscreen frame and the sliding section, pressing them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats so it does not seep under the edge. The wheel and hub masks separate the tire from the disc. Once the paint dries, carefully peel off the masks at a sharp angle so the fresh coat is not disturbed.
The package contains only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
