This is a color 3D interior decal on backing paper from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale. The detail is printed on a thin flexible film and has real relief, so once applied the instrument panel, the side panels, the seat and the belts look three-dimensional and solid. The colors, the instrument labels and the dial faces are pre-printed, so the interior does not have to be painted by hand. The set is intended for the Academy kit.
The Grumman F8F Bearcat was an American carrier-based piston fighter of the end of the Second World War and the postwar years. It was created as a light, high-performance machine with a massive radial engine and an excellent rate of climb, intended for the defense of aircraft carriers. The F8F-2 version brought changes to the armament and a taller fin.
The parts are cut out, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper onto the interior parts. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss coat, which you should lay over the surface beforehand; on complex areas a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. It is advisable to work in sections, to degrease the surface beforehand and to undercoat the instrument panel in a dark color for maximum contrast.
The set contains the interior 3D decals only. The Academy base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
