A resin detail set, not an aircraft model. The set contains faithfully cast control surfaces of the F9F Panther fighter, which can be fitted on a model in a deflected position and so bring a static build to life. The set is intended for kits of this aircraft in 1:48 scale and pushes the detail beyond the level of the plastic from the box.
The Grumman F9F Panther was one of the first American carrier jet fighters. Its straight wing and reliable operation made it a key machine of the Navy and the Marine Corps in the early 1950s; it became famous for its service in the Korean War, where it flew as both a fighter and an attack aircraft.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release residue from the mold. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and level the surfaces; wear a respirator when sanding resin, as the dust is harmful. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with ordinary plastic cement. Apply a base primer before painting.
