Eduard 1:48 Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II armament is a photo-etched set aimed at the armament and its mounting on an A-10C model in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the aircraft.

This set from the Czech maker Eduard concentrates on the armament and its mounting on an A-10C Thunderbolt II model in 1:48 scale. The stores are among the most heavily simplified places on plastic kits: pylons, locks, stabilizing surfaces and small fittings cannot be made at a realistic thickness in injection-molded plastic. Eduard offers several sets for this aircraft in the given scale divided by area; this one is intended for the armament, another for the exterior of the airframe and a further one is the basic full photo-etched set. The set cannot be used without the plastic model.
The A-10C Thunderbolt II is an attack aircraft for the close support of ground forces. Besides its built-in rotary cannon it carries armament on a large number of pylons under the wing and the fuselage, so the configuration of the stores is one of the main visual elements on a model. The C version brought a digitized pilot's station and extended possibilities for the use of precision-guided munitions.
Cut the small parts out with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and work over a tray, so that a lost part does not roll away. Deburr the remains of the tabs with a fine file. Make the bends along the scored grooves; on very small parts flat-jawed tweezers help. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, and the gel variant gives somewhat longer to line a part up. Apply an adhesion primer before painting. It is practical to paint the stores separately and to fit them onto the model only at the end, so that they do not get in the way when spraying and masking the airframe.
The set is an accessory to a kit. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
