Photo-etched steel seat belts for the cockpit of an A-10C Thunderbolt II model in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of seat belts for a model of the A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. According to the name, the STEEL designation says what the belts are etched from: steel, not a softer alloy. The exact number of parts and their color finish is given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
Steel holds its shape. A belt bent over the edge of a seat, or thrown loosely over the side of the cockpit, stays exactly where you put it and does not straighten out again. That is what matters with belts, because a natural sag and a carelessly dropped end turn an empty seat into a place where somebody was sitting a moment ago. On top of that, the belts are the first thing the eye notices in an open cockpit.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the burrs lightly away. Shape the belts gradually, bend by bend, ideally with flat-jawed tweezers. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a tiny amount so that it does not run over the edge. If you are going to paint the belts, degrease the surface first and apply a primer.
The set suits anyone building the A-10C with an open cockpit who wants to refine it. Check in the instructions which 1:48 kit it is developed for. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
