A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard for detailing the exterior of the model of the German Fieseler Fi 156 Storch liaison and observation aircraft in the C-3 and C-5 versions, in 1:48 scale. The thin metal parts refine the exterior features of the airframe, the fittings, the stiffeners and the small plates, which come out heavy in plastic. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for advanced detailing; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch, meaning stork, is a German liaison aircraft famous for its extraordinary takeoff and landing qualities. Thanks to flaps along the whole length of the wing and long sprung landing gear it could take off and land in very short distances. It was used for observation, liaison and casualty evacuation on every front of the Second World War.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them in a bending tool. They are bonded with super glue or with epoxy. Degrease the metal parts before painting and lay a primer over them.
