At Eduard, LööKplus is the designation for a package at whose core stands a LööK set: a pre-painted resin instrument panel supplemented with seat belts in steel. The box adds further accessories of the same kind to it, bringing together in one package several items that are also sold separately, so that the cockpit and its surroundings move up a class. The plastic aircraft model is not included.
FM-1 is the designation for a carrier fighter of the Wildcat family which a license line built outside the original plant. Against the six-gun armament of the previous version it carried only four machine guns and more ammunition per gun, which suited pilots from escort carriers. The machine had a short, stocky fuselage, landing gear retracted by hand into the sides of the fuselage and a folding wing for operations from narrow decks.
The pre-painted panel only needs its casting stub removed and is then fitted in place of the plastic part. The steel belts are bent over a round rod, so they hold their shape and look naturally draped over the edge of the seat. Given the small cockpit of the Wildcat, it pays to fit both the panel and the belts before you close the fuselage.
The folding wing and the hand-retracted landing gear tempt you to build the Wildcat parked with the cockpit open and the wing folded. It is in exactly that position that most of the instrument panel and the seat can be seen.
