Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks by Eduard in 1:48 scale intended for spraying British national insignia onto a model of the FM-1 Wildcat fighter. It is not a kit and these are not masks for the canopy glazing. The set aims at machines in the service of the Fleet Air Arm, where the same type flew under its own designation. The manufacturer also makes variants with the US insignia alongside it, so you have to choose according to the finish you want to build.
The FM-1 Wildcat was the version of the Grumman F4F carrier fighter built under license by the Eastern Aircraft division of General Motors. The Fleet Air Arm received these machines as part of the deliveries from the United States and used them under the designation Martlet Mk.V, later unified under the name Wildcat. They were deployed mainly from escort carriers, where the small, tough machine with a short take-off run proved itself.
Smooth the surface and spray it with a gloss varnish; a sharp edge will not hold on a rough surface. Seat the masks and press the edges down with a blunt tool. With circular insignia made up of several concentric fields, work from the lighter color to the darker one and let each coat dry. Spray perpendicular to the surface and in thin coats, or the paint will seep underneath.
