Photo-etched steel seat belts for a model of the FM-1 Wildcat in the British Martlet Mk.V form, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Seat belts are the most conspicuous soft feature in a cockpit and at the same time the thing kits deal with worst. Either they are missing altogether or they are suggested only by relief directly on the seat, where they look like a strip of plastic stuck on. A photo-etched belt is as thin as a real strap, it can be draped over the edge of the seat, folded and twisted the way a strap lies when the pilot has climbed out.
According to the product name the parts are of steel. Steel photo-etch tends to be thinner than brass and holds its shape better once formed: a fold once made does not spring back flat, which is exactly what is wanted with belts. The set is intended for a model of the FM-1 Wildcat in the British Martlet Mk.V form in 1:48 scale, and the placement of the individual parts is described in the enclosed instructions.
The FM-1 is the Wildcat carrier fighter from the production of the General Motors corporation, listed with the British Fleet Air Arm under the name Martlet Mk.V. The cockpit sits high on a short fuselage and is clearly visible through the sliding canopy, so work on the seat and the belts really does show on a finished model.
The kit, seats, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
