1:48 FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 is a photo-etched set of antenna arrays, an accessory to a night fighter kit in 1:48 scale that you have already bought, not a model in its own right. It replaces coarsely cast plastic antennas with parts of a thickness that matches the scale.

This is an aftermarket accessory from the Czech maker Brengun, supplied as a fret of thin photo-etched sheet. The set is intended for completing a kit you already have: on its own it makes up no model. Antenna dipoles and their booms are among the parts that cannot be cast by injection into a mold in a real gauge: a plastic substitute tends to be several times heavier than the scale calls for and looks like little rods on a finished model. Photo-etched metal has a gauge in tenths of a millimeter and solves this problem.
The FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 was a German airborne radar of the Second World War period, serving to search out targets in the dark. Its antenna system projected from the nose of the airplane as an assembly of vertical dipoles carried on horizontal booms; among modelers the name antlers has taken hold for it. It was carried above all by twin-engined night fighters. It is precisely the nose antenna that is the most conspicuous distinguishing mark of such a machine, and that is why the quality of a build is judged on it as well.
Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, as photo-etched metal is easily deformed at a bend. Sand the remains of the tabs down with a fine file or a sanding sponge. Degrease the sheet with alcohol before painting and spray it with a thin primer, or the paint will not hold on the smooth metal. It is glued with super glue applied in a minimal amount, ideally with the tip of a wire. On the antenna rods watch out for squareness and for parallelism, as asymmetry shows on a model more than any other detail. Choose the color scheme according to the particular machine you are building and spray in thin coats so that the edges are not flooded over.
