Masks for the cockpit canopy of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the A-3 version for a 1:48 model. They cover the frames from outside and from the inner side.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-3 form was the first truly mature stage of the Fw 190 line. It received a BMW 801 D-2 engine with increased output, reworked cooling and armament extended by cannon in the wing. From the spring of 1942 units flew it over the English Channel and for a long time the Allied command had no clear idea of the new opponent.
That changed in June 1942, when a disoriented German pilot landed a machine of this version at an airfield in south Wales and handed the British an undamaged example. The subsequent tests showed where the Fw 190 excelled and where it had weaknesses, and they directly influenced the development of later Spitfire versions. Some of the A-3 aircraft later served in Turkey, which bought them for its own air force, and a few examples ended up as trainers in rear-area schools.
The sliding cockpit canopy and the windscreen on the subject have clearly legible framing whose width decides the overall impression of a finished model. The parts from the set follow its course, hold even on a domed part and once removed leave a straight transition between the paint and the clear plastic. The inside can be covered as well, which is useful for a build with an open cockpit.
